Now this may be a daft question or it may have allready been covered and i have missed it,
I read this week that as 1 Jan, Turkey is reverting back from the new lira to the old lira, is this just a name change or are we going to be having millions again?
From the way it was explained to me it's not the old Lira, it's just that the new lira is no longer new and so can be called Turkish Lira again. So there will be new currency called Lira but without all the millions. I believe it will be introduced in Jan 2009 and then there will be a period of time before the other Lira (new but now not so new) ceases to be legal tender. LOL.
Plus we will have a ' New ' 200 TL. Note.Old YTL is valid for 12 months and after that you change it at The TC Ziararat Bank ( spelling ) which is a state bank. Nobody can change 100 YTL so why the 200 who knows.
It's better to be over the Hill than under it.
