Turkish Lira Rates

I have started this thread for people to continue to discuss the rates, as the other thread was old and gone off topic a little.

Re: Turkish Lira Rates

İve been watching it as well and it did drop to 2.34 on 12th but has now gone back up to 2.38-2.39
I would be happy if it dropped to 2.30

Re: Turkish Lira Rates

No,No, the rate must go up to at least 2.45, for me anyhow, cos my cash for the next three months living is transferred on Feb 1st.

I was watching it slowly drop last week day by day and thought yeah, sods law!! It always seems to do that. But there again for people waiting to change to Sterling it probably always seems to start rising........//##*+. Can Anyone explain this apparent phenomenon.

Re: Turkish Lira Rates

I find this site to be an excellent one for historical rates. It is possible to go back for 500 days and see individual rates as well as the high, low and average rates.

Cool Re: Turkish Lira Rates

Hi All,

I have to agree with Warren, I would like to see the rate go up to at least 2.45ytl to the £ as all the quotes I have got for work that I want doing and services are in ytl so my circumstances support the higher ytl rate and the extra few lira would save me £100.00

Re: Turkish Lira Rates

i tend to do my saving and dovis in mid summer-last summer i got 2,50 and it went as high as 2,57--i use xe.com for xfers in from ther uk
someone also told me last xmas 2008 that turkey ups the value of the lira at the end of the year to get some technical budget balance.-it was about 2,32
apart from security what is the legality of bringing a lump of money through turkish customs-and uk customs---is it illegal?
