Re: Watch The Lira Now
Globalisation, is transforming the global tax reach of Governments into financial institutions around the world.
It is being helped by the Common Reporting Standard (CRS) which has increased the world's government efforts to improve global tax compliance of their citizens .
CRS is now the solution in cracking down on undisclosed offshore bank accounts by allowing entire countries to mandate their banks to share data into the pool of information which then gets fed to every other country to keep tabs on its citizens.
It’s the end of the “undisclosed Swiss bank account”
So Old Fogy if your looking for countries then you must find a country not signed up to CRS which is getting fewer by the year..... more than 100 countries, including some of the supposed tax havens and offshore banking havens have surprisingly signed up, most are already exchanging data.
The nearest non CRS ..and easiest to take out a bank account is Georgia..
Georgia is not yet signed up to CRS , and it still ranks among the best off the radar places in the world for banking.
The rest below are Non CRS , but opening of bank accounts for expats and regulations vary both in difficulty and bureaucracy ....
Armenia is not part of CRS nor is Its arch rival Azerbaijan which hasn't signed on to CRS yet
The other NON CPR . are GUATEMALA,CAMBODIA, DOMINICAN REPUBLIC,KAZAKHSTAN,MACEDONIA MONTENEGRO,PARAGUAY, PHILIPPINES SERBIA and I think UKRAINE but all would have to be re- checked for current status...........

I looked at that for the uk and not remembering all the detail decided it was too well documented and problems reselling unless to the original seller which meant a monopoly on the price.

Yes but I think it also depends on what you are buying/saving such as ingots Vs krugerrands and krugerrands are very easy to dispose of,

Silly sod you're not supposed to pile them up like a pyramid, lie them touching side-by-side then the mattress eventually will feel more like a orthopaedic mattress (firm)

Problem is I have to keep them my side of the bed or SHE will find and spend them! I keep telling her the mattress is fine but she thinks it is lopsided.
