Re: Watch The Lira Now

Well respected politician Ron Paul states - an economy which devalues its own currency(trl) via the theft from savers deposits, creates a credit bubble & is destined to destroy the middle classes. The people who most benefit from this fraudulent system of currency devaluation, are the ones who get the money first - the financial 'elite'. This fraudulent economic system creates an 'inflation levy' on the poor/non-elite. This is the game 'they' play. A washing machine economy, based on enticement(high interest rates) then harvest(devaluation). Sound familiar. How else could 'they' fund their luxurious lifestyles and the grandiose building projects, through exporting televisions & soap operas?, I think not!.

i have always viewed putting the money in a savers account in any bank anywhere in the world as the worst kind of investment.

Re: Watch The Lira Now

I was out in Dalyan last few weeks and decided to withdraw TL and get some jobs done .

Yapi Kredi upped my balance to 9.5 % Interest,
A period of stability would be nice tho.

Yes I think you could well be right there, what with domestic jitters ahead of June 7 elections.
RTE has been calling publicly to slash rates to boost growth and there have been worries about a shake-up in the AKP economic team after the June 7 polls.
Along with Turkey’s unemployment rate has climbing to its highest level since 2010.
The forecast for the TL is a bumpy one between now and June 7th.
