Re: Left Turkey and gone back home?

I think is fair enough to sneak in the odd plug after 1300+ posts.

Re: Left Turkey and gone back home?

We spent 12 years in Turkey and generally loved every minute. However we felt insecure in the last year or so and after listening to Shirley and Charlotte on here, who knew far more about the political situation than I shall ever know, we decided to move on. Not far however as we are in North Cyprus which we truly love. Not such a beautiful country as Turkey generally but very much easier to live in as a foreigner. Reasons for our move here rather than anywhere else in the world was partly because of the language (I really didn't want to start again right now) and partly because our health insurance could continue here....which was fortunate as a year after we moved here my husband had to have a quintuple heart bypass.

As with anywhere in the world things can change and we realise we may need to move on again at some point but for the moment we are happy and settled.
