Yes you are right Valuzum, Traders do watch the exchange rates. So when the rates go up. ie more liras to the pound, then up soar the prices in the shops and Restaurants etc.

And meanwhile the locals are suffering. Had lunch with a friend today and she is complaining bitterly that although the ER goes up in favour of sterling the prices in the shops are also increasing for all, not just foreigners; butter, other dairy products, coffee, meat, pet food too, etc.
