Hi Folks,
A few of you obviously haven't been too or spent any time in Belek/kadriye..
The area you talk about has 2 small towns.. Belek and Kadriye. Approx 5km apart.. Between these towns are Golf courses.. 14 at the last count, with Grand Hotels along the beaches which stretch as far as the eye can see..
Both Kadriye and Belek have their own Beach parks, open to the general public with parking areas.. Beach bars and gardens where you can spend all day lounging and eating at any one of the numerous cafes or bistros.. The beaches are clean and tidy and all of the bars have sunlounging areas where there is a small charge for your sunbeds... for the first few days.. Once they get to know you ...the sunbeds are usually free!
Belek town is a vibrant purpose built shopping town with the usual gift shops, designer ???? clothes boutiques, with plenty of eating places,a few with live music, karaoke, a few i would recommend would be.. 01Adana restaurant,The Sunset restaurant,Gardiners wine bar, The pasha bar,Moods restaurant/bar.. a Norwegian franchise, who opened last year, very popular with the younger holidaymakers.. good food and music!.. but try some of the smaller eating places..locally owned turkish cafes.. very good value for money and i have never had a bad meal in 8 years eating out! I've had some better than others ...but never a bad one!
The town comes to life at night when the all-inclusive hotels let the gates open and the patrons are allowed out for a few hours to shop... Honestly! All inclusive is destroying the tourism industry.. Get out! meet the locals and take in a little bit of the country you have paid money to visit!!
Kadriye is the smaller of the two towns... but a little more personal.. when you get to know the natives.. It has similar shopping facilities as Belek but on a smaller scale... Quaint little place but with plenty of restaurants and bars.. Rons' Irish Pub has music/karaoke most nights and serves food with a good nights craic... other good eating places are 01Adana restaurant,Titanic restaurant, owned by an Austrian gentleman called Erich...a legend ... very abrupt but funny... the best steaks in the region!! The Halisan restaurant,The Shefinyeri restaurant,Ali's restaurant... 1st class fish and chips every Friday night.. The Roman Bar...food drink and music..
Between the towns are villas as far as the eye can see... there are a few eating places and supermarkets and bars..one of the most popular is Bar Bekar serving up Great food and drink.. with entertainment most nights... serves full english breakfast with real Bacon!! and sausages.... a change from the All inclusive continental breakfasts.. Hard to beat a good fry-up.. some nights i would have one for my evening meal...when you get fed up eating chicken, lamb, beef and kebabs! The kadriye beach park area has several restaurants..inc a chinese.. also Go-karts and an all weather football arena
There are several good supermarkets in the area, where you can by the weekly shopping if needed.. Bim,Genpa,etc..
Both towns have Bizarres once a week...Saturday Belek town centre and Tuesdays in Kadriye...where you can pick up a bargain or two for the folks back home...
Apart from Golf , watersports , 7km of beaches, horseriding, gokarting paintballing, good shopping, good restaurants,2 beachparks, the odd disco or two, brilliant weather,and...next year, hopefullly we'll have a real theme park... the area of Belek/kadriye really hasn't a lot going for it?~~ Think again.
Kindest Regards... Stevie:
