Pet Cremation (in Bodrum or surrounding area?)
Hi
My cat Charlie is very sick. He is at the vets overnight but I have been told he may not make it through :-(
I have had him nearly 11 years and just a cat to some people, he is my world. Im devastated but added to this I have found out that pet cremation is not available in Turkey? Is this correct?
We live in a rented house and I dont want him buried here, nor at friends houses as they may move one day. I want him with me.
Can anybody help? Does anybody know of a place I could get him cremated? I can't believe im sitting here writing this about my beloved Charlie but I couldnt bear to just leave him at the vets afterwards :-(
Any help you can give at all would be appreciated :-(
Thank you
Lorraine

Re: Pet Cremation (in Bodrum or surrounding area?)
I totally understand how you feel as I am a cat lover too and my cat is 14 and I worry about when his time will come too. I have looked into this and as far as I have been able to find there is not one place in all of Turkey that does pet cremations and there are no pet cemetaries that I have been able to find. I have no solution to offer you but I do offer my condolences.

Re: Pet Cremation (in Bodrum or surrounding area?)
Hi AzraCansel
Thank you for your kind words. If I find anywhere I will be sure to let you know. Im willing to listen to suggestions too. Somebody today said to have a burial at sea but I think that would be far worse than putting him in the ground.
Or even do it myself but thats the last option.
Thanks

Hi Lorraine
How awful for you to have poor Charlie suffering, it must be absolutely devastating for you.
If his end comes though (and I hope he makes it through) and you are not able to have him cremated as you wish to, then whatever -you will have all those years of happy memories -whether he is buried in land or at sea.
Thinking of you

Re: Pet Cremation (in Bodrum or surrounding area?)
As far as im aware cremations of any kind be it human or animal are not allowed in the muslim faith, something to do with the body being in take for your next life (correct me if I am mistaken). So I am afraid it is most unlikely that you will find a crematorioum of any kind in Turkey.
My thoughts are with you and poor Charlie.

geez Lorraine, how tough for you. It is unfortunate that there are no cremation services here for pets. I feel for you.
My thoughts are with you during this very difficult time. If you need a shoulder to cry on, you know where to find me.

Hello,
I think Ches is right about non cremation. Just a thought, are there any taxidermists in Turkey?
