Does anyone know the present situation of the Vita Park golf complex? The last I heard was that some of it should be be playable by the beginning of Sept Thankyou for any
information.

Cool Re: Vita Park golf

Nothing is playable yet despite them making a lot of progress. You really can see that things are coming on but I think it will be next year before there is any playing done. I did hear that they have had trouble with the salt from the lake affecting the grass, but how accurate that is I dont know. Last time I looked it all appeared pretty green and the water features looked to be taking good shape.

Its good to hear progress is being made at the golf course.Whats the general feeling about this course and the others being developed around the Bodrum area, will it lead to be more year round tourists more winter direct flights or is it too early to say ?

Cheers,
Dave.

Hi Neutral. Personally I think it and any other planned ones in that area are too far away from Bodrum to make much of a difference. Strictly speaking they are not Bodrum . They are Milas. And Bodrum town and other resorts are a good 40 minutes drive away.
Might get more winter flights which would be good.

Re: Vita Park golf

I took a drive down to the Golf Course last Friday. WOW - they were so unfriendly!! I'm sure the developer, Dr.Gürol Büyük, isn't aware of their behaviour.

I drove up the lane to the area where the Club House is being built and within 1 minutes had a guy over telling me to get off the land, it was private! Well then, don't leave the gate open.

I drove out onto the access road again, stopped to take a couple of pictures and again had a couple of guys shouting at me. What was the problem? Obviously they could tell I don't have the 15,000 euro fee for membership, given I was only driving a Hyundai.

I was surprised at their attitute, you'd think if they wanted this to be successful they'd be keen to show off the site and welcome people.

I for one - won't be back!!!

They are probably unfriendly due to the stick they have been taking on the
Flamingo Park Country Club Owners forum.

MRI have been slated over prices including 1500 Euro for their furniture
pack. You can buy your own furniture but MRI state it has to have a Health and Safety certificate for this they charge you 4500 Euro.

The facilities which were advertised as exclusive for the MRI owners are now to
be shared by other complexes.

Loads of other frightening info.

Cool Re: Vita Park golf

Hi Guys,

Is the first phase of Flamingo Park still supposed to be ready in December this year? With Regard to the exclusive facilities available for the development, I heard that they are developing a "Private" beach. Is this correct or are all beaches in Turkey open to the public. I honestly do not know, so info would be appreciated.

With regard to the Vita Park development, I did email Guyol Buyuk (well I emailed Vita Park actually and the reply came back with his name at the bottom) to enquire why his security was so aggressive and also to enquire why the fees were as high as they are. The response was along the lines of "If you don't like it stay away" and "I don't know what sort of golf club you are used to, but this one will be truly international class"

I hope that he is right about the quality because otherwise I think his attitude will leave him with a very empty golf course. I am inclined to agree with Terry, I also would have thought that it was in their interests to be more welcoming to peope and let them see what is happening. After all, good will costs very little and it can turn into very good advertising. Apart from that, I want it to be good, I would love a round or two when I am over there! Time will tell!

What an arrogant turd bag. Although I heard he was a bit miffed off with all the developers using his Golf Course to promote their properties around the area but he should be glad of all the free publicity he is getting. With out all the developers in the area advertising it then I doubt as many people would know about it! I meanhow many year has he been planning to "do "this Golf course. He is just miffed coz he has to actually pull his finger out of his bum and get some work done!!! Even though on his web it says the first stage to be completed end of 2006 (its almost 2008) !!!

Evening, Jackie and meself have a house on Dortteppe Evleri, next to Guvercinlik, a friend who is involved with golf course developments in Bodrum mentioned hearing of a rumour that " Vita Park has been sold to an American golf course consortium" , only a rumour, but worth watching.
