Fly Thomas Cook Manchester

Hi All,
We have just returned from 1 week in Tuzla. The flight from Manchester by Thomas Cook, a nightmare.
We normally fly Onur Air and I know we all moan, but I have to say never again with Thomas Cook.
Arrived at Manchester 3 hours before our flight, terminal 1 to be met with a huge crowd and queue that went all the way aound the airport. Not enough staff on Thomas Cook desks, everyone in 1 queue travelling all over Europe. The staff from the airport were having to call people from this mass of travellers by time of flight, as ours was the last one, well you can imagine we stood in that queue for over 2 hours.
Eventually got checked in, a quick dash through passport control, a very quick drink, then called to gates. Well, another wait, over 3/4 hour then finally got on the plane.
Shock, was the word, new plane, but more seats squeezed in and not enough room to squeeze a cat in. I have never seen so many people crammed into a plane before, the stewardess said they have put more seats in, to obtain more money.
The flight only took 3hrs 20 mins so very fast, but boy when we got off everybody could hardly walk-----Health and safety don't think so.
Give me Onur Air!!!!! At least we can move about.
On our return, flight on time no delays, quick flying time, but same plane, full, no tea and coffee on flight at all, everything pay pay pay.
So much for flying these days---------------------------

Re: Fly Thomas Cook Manchester

They all seem to be going that way T&M and I've had the trip from hell with Onur, some of their seats are tightly packed. My XL tickets arrived followed by a phone call trying to extract about another £60 each out of us. Fuel prices are probably to blame. Our other option is to fly scheduled via Istanbul but that adds more time to the journey and having looked at the prices they were pretty steep. Now how about driving there or do what my son is doing cycle there LOL. I think now we'll book the extra leg room seats for the extra £30 pounds to avoid the squash but you have to be quick with that as they sell out fast.

Re: Fly Thomas Cook Manchester

Well we flew to Bodrum last week with Thomas Cook and had only slight delays in leaving (we're talking 15-20mins) that was made up in the air. In fact, our check in couldnt have been easier and more hassle free to be honest.

Re: Fly Thomas Cook Manchester

We flew to the UK in December with Thomas Cook from Dalaman. No real complaints but never again, money for this money for that so uncivilised. In future we shall be going with Turkish Airlines who do have some good deals going. OK so it might take a bit longer and cost a bit more!!! Did you know if you are a senior then internal flights for Turkish Airlines has a 25% reduction. Also a more civilised flight time. I have to be honest UK flights are usually once a year for us so I can afford to be choosey. I refuse to be cattle.

Re: Fly Thomas Cook Manchester

I wish I could find the good deals for Turkish Airlines. I have just been hunting through their web site. The best I could find was £100 more each than going with a charter and took 7.5 hours to reach Dalaman. It also involved Heathrow which I hate. Birmingham is my airport of choice. When there are 6 of us it's too much more. I have used them in the past when I have had airmiles to use and yes you do get a nice comfy trip, we still had delays with them though and a lot of sitting around at Istanbul.
How old do you have to be to be a senior?

Are you seriously suggesting that paying for things on a plane is uncivilised? I genuinely dont see the problem - if you dant want something dont buy it or bring your own stuff on, I'd need a bigger reason than that for choosing one airline over another. Still at the end of the day we do all have a choice of airlines at least.

Re: Fly Thomas Cook Manchester

I have never found a good deal with Turkish Airlines either, at the moment for two of us its 795.00 to Antalya in July. Years ago I used to fly with them and found that really good and reasonable prices, but how they can tell me that this is a promotional offer, goodness only knows.

I once flew first class them - a present from my daughter, my oh my, it was fantastic.

You must have been on the same Manchester - Bodrum flight as I was last June, or maybe this is a regular occurrence on TC flights?!

It happens with them all and often. We had a 27 hour delay with Onur so 15 would be a walk in the park LOL!!
