Petrol prices/UK and Turkey

Hi
I am just astonished how petrol prices have risen in the UK and why the truckers are not up in arms like they have been in the past. We are in a recession and no one is paying any attention to this.Today I have read Quote>>>>
The AA said that if the rise in petrol wholesale prices - from around 680 US dollars a tonne a month ago to approaching 800 dollars now - is passed on to the pump, the resulting extra 4p increase would lift prices above the all-time high of 119.7p a litre reached in July 2008.
A 3p increase in fuel duty and VAT on April 1, together with another 1p rise from the loss of the subsidy on biofuel due the same day, could lift the price of petrol to 124p a litre.
Today at the pumps it is 116.09 and daily this is going up.

We have usualy been cheaper than in Turkey but what is the price there now, is it the same or more or cheaper?

Currently about 1.64 a litre in Turkey.

Yep!
We "only" pay about 1.20 / litre in the Isle of Man, I thought that was expensive til we came back to Gumusluk this time.
I'm thinking of bringing some petrol in my suitcase next time, seems to go up every week here.

I've just been to Morrisons to fill up, as we're going away for the week-end and it is 1.13 a litre today

Do you drive a Saturn 5 rocket

Seriously though petrol is expensive here but LPG is only about 88p a litre which is still higher than in the uk.

Re: Petrol prices/UK and Turkey

Unleaded petrol €1.30 per litre in Irish Republic and 1.17 per litre in north so for first time in years it is cheaper in North than Republic
