january flights

Hi everyone.I'm looking to book a flight to bodrum in january through pegasus from Stanstead ( London). The flight first goes to Istanbul and i get a connecting flight to Bodrum. There is only 1 hour from landing at Istanbul to departing to Bodrum. This seems a short time to go through customs, collect tickets etc and board the connecting flight. Has anyone done this trip ok or been too late for the 2nd flight.

Re: january flights

Hi, If you've booked a through flight with the same operator; you don't go through customs/passport in Istanbul, but at Bodrum. Follow signs 'In-Transit'

İ did flight B'ham to İstanbul then connect for Antalya with one hr from landing, getting through customs was quick my friend that was with me had to get visa & still got connecting flight, you should be ok at least you don't have to worry about collecting your luggage its automatically changed for you

Re: january flights

I've done this flight before - there's no problem & Pegasus will hold the Istanbul-Bodrum flight for a while if the inbound flight is late.

You will need to get your visa and go through passport control in Istanbul - you wil only do Customs in Bodrum

You will get your boarding cards for the Istanbul-Bodrum flight when you check in at Stansted.

Also, as you are booking a through ticket with 1 carrier, if you do miss the Istanbul-Bodrum flight because of the late arrival of the flight from Stansted then Pegasus are liable to look after you and get you onto the next available flight. They will also provide hotel accommodation if required.

Re: january flights

done the flight a few times. arrived late once, missed connecting flight along with about 100 others. after much screaming and shouting [in turkish] we were taken in taxi,s to a 4* hotel evening meal and breakfast provided. it gave me a chance to do a bit of sightseeing around istanbul. cant complain about how we were treated, the worst bit was not knowing whats going on at the airport.

This was not the case earlier in the year, we did not have to collect our
bags at Sabin goken but we did have to go through passport control, visa
and change to International terminal, Upstairs.
has this changed recently? in fact when we followed the 'In-transit' signs
we were turned back by an official at the top which nearly caused a
major accident with 20 people trying to get of an escalator and jobsworth
trying to stop them

Re: january flights

We have done this flight twice with Pegasus, first time was fine but the second one this Ja nuary was late getting in to Stanstead hence we missed our connecting flight in Istanbul. We were put up in a hotel and given breakfast the following day, also we could choose which flight we wanted ie. early in the morning or a litle later. We were slightly annoyed but these things happen and at least we didn't have to pay for the hotel, it just delayed us getting to Bodrum. It wouldn't put me off doing the trip again except now we travel with a toothbrush and small toiletries in our hand luggage in case we need to use them .

Re: january flights

always had to go through passport control - £10.00 or 15.00 euro [some exchange rate!] but only travelled with hand luggage - stressful!

Re: january flights

Our in laws arrived yesterday from Paris to Dalaman via Istanbul, same 1 hour to transfer. They had to buy the visa in Istanbul, on arrival at Dalaman domestic terminal they were transferred by bus to the international terminal to pick up their luggage which had been sent straight through. Very pleased with the service.
