Artesian well/tanker water

Can anyone tell me if it is still possible to drill a well on a site in the Bodrum area. Our site is being crippled financially by the water charge from the council(lots of grass) so can we still get water by tanker and if so does it have to be bought from the council and at what cost. if anyone knows anything about wells all info would be appreciated, many thanks.

Re: Artesian well/tanker water

There are a number of companies in the Bodrum area, the cost of a borehole ranges between 70 and 100 TL per metre. Depending on the quantity of water required the pump cost will vary from 2 to 4k TL. Further you will have to make sure you have sufficient electrical power to operate it.

Those are the rough costs but it doesn't end there. The rig and support vehicle are huge so you will need to be sure you can accommodate them. Finally if you are inside bodrum you will probably need the Belediye's blessing.

Good luck.

Re: Artesian well/tanker water

Since the new water pipes came through Bodrum last year, our site well was capped & locked & i'm led to believe that it's now illegal to get your bulk water from anywhere other than through the Bodrum Belediye.

Martin does that mean that you can still buy tanker water(from the council) and if so do you know the cost, i believe the cost for the water through the pipes is about 5 lira per cubic metre
