In 1997 ? Thinking back, although that era has all but been eroded from my micro memory they used to not put all the zeros on, not sure why but I just about remember it.

The way inflation was going they,d have run out of space to put all the 0’s.

I’m sure I can remember 2,000 to to £ but it might have been 20,000. We used to eat at the Kervansaray in Kusadasi for the price of buttons . Tourism has brought plenty of low paid jobs to Turkey but I wonder if that,s a good thing ?

In our village, when the rest of Turkey was talking about 'milyar' (million), they used 'bin' (Thousand) they had never bothered making the leap. A bit confusing for a while.
I think in the 1990s and 2000s many tourists thought that 'Milyar' was the name of the Turkish currency.

Re: Bodrum - Bodrum

Five years to the day I put this on here, I also put oon the Eski Bodrum facebook page today without realising - spooky !!

Anyway still worth a watch and Listen but I do apologise for the Turkish conotation on this Brexit forum.

It was actually 1988 when we first went so this was the year before but it was exactly the same
