Re: Bar-fa in the news!

Probably not the right place to post this so I guess it will be moved. Not wanting to go off topic but at the same time think this point needs raising. A few weeks ago I read an article in a national newspaper under the Homes section about a couple who had fallen in love with Turkey and had given a builder 90k deposit to build them a home and work would start in the winter of 2012. With alarm bells ringing I contacted the editor - she was naturally defensive and I had to agree that not all builders are rougues, as this forum shows there are some very good ones, however, my own personal experience of losing 60k and chasing through the courts would not let this rest and the editor agreed to phone me back. The call never came so today I rang again this time speaking to someone else. I reiterated that there was a campaign running to stop inocent people getting ripped off and could she herself help or point us in the right direction to get someone to run a story to help us fight for what is rightfully ours. She is going to ask her legal department about this and get back to me. To cover myself from being prosecuted I want to say again that this builder could be one of the good guys.

It is interesting though to read the story which states in regards to the Agents, McCoy and McMeel and Kevin Tohill -"There is no suggestion the agents took anything other than normal estate agencies fees, or that they did not act with the utmost propriety."

I wonder how the other people who tried to buy from them feel about this statement.

Thumbs up Re: Bar-fa in the news!

WE bought on White beach village having done all the homework we thought possible. Knowing that the Daily Mail had given away one of the villas as a prize was one of the deciding factors. From all the information available Barfa were not the reason we lost 100,000 pounds it was M E B the irish developer, the funds dried up and Barfa wernt being paid hence our property being sold off to pay M E B debts. We are amongest many to loose money in Turkey and i dont know the reasons for other Barfa sites but we have learnt a lesson and have moved on , we now have alovely apartment on a site in Tuzla.

Re: Bar-fa in the news!

I was in bogazici this morning and saw a sign for Bargylium development. I followed the signs and it was just a number of shells for apartments. Is this the site that Barfa were developing?
