House selling experience.

I know there are some disaster stories regarding selling houses in Turkey, but I wish to tell you of my experience.
I sold my property last week and it was an absolute dream. I asked an Emlak to value my house but decided to put the word out myself. Within two days I received an offer, a Turkish woman, offering me the full asking price.
She organised everything and three days later we went to the TAPU office at 10.00 to make sure we had the correct paperwork and to arrange the afternoons signings etc.
We then went to her bank where she withdrew the cash, then on to my bank to pay it in.
We then had lunch, which she paid for, then back to the TAPU office to complete the paperwork.
We then went to change the Electric and Water into her name.
The lady even let us stay in HER house for a week before our flight home.

Re: House selling experience.

Thanks for posting Bob, great to hear a positive property tale. Which area was this in? Was the Emlak involved at all after your original request?

Re: House selling experience.

The house was in Ortaca, near Dalaman airport.
The Emlak was never used after his initial valuing.
I did look in the windows of other local Emlaks and the price was competitive.

Re: House selling experience.

Competitive pricing is the key.
A house in 'Ortaca near Dalaman airport'...? Where exactly would that be? Which village?
If you are ready to sell at a competitive price then probably you can find more than one buyer- all Turkish- and get them bidding against one another. There is a company that does this type of thing. PM me for more help./

Re: House selling experience.

We owned the house for 6yrs. The house was in Ortaca not Dalaman. There is a lot of new property being built in Ortaca so yes I guess there is a big demand.
