Realistic rentals
Anybody looking for long term rentals at Turkish rates should look at www.emlak.net you can choose the area etc. I found loads starting from 250ytl to 700ytl per month. Obviously it is in Turkish, but you still get the general idea.

Re: Realistic rentals
An aside on that site, just click on the car picture at the top of the page, and have a shock at the prices for their motors,eg vectra 1998 2.5 V6 (lots of km's),£3800!!!! .My son in law had an identical model & struggled to get £850 & it was immaculate. How can the locals afford these prices on an average monthly salary of £250 ?. Think i'll stick to the dolmus,i'll get a lot of jouneys for £3.8k.

Re: Realistic rentals
Cars are very much considered a privilige and luxury here, and very few 'locals' own them, but The Tofas sahin (recycled Fiat 131) and the Toros (recycled renault 12) are more in line with the people.
Not many people here would buy an old V6 smoker due to taxes and fuel costs.

Re: Realistic rentals
Fiat 131....that brings back memories phil....i owned a 131 twin cam back in 1973 ( & competed in a few road rallies),but i think to own one now,to me would be a step backwards in the motoring stakes as apposed to owning a classic car !!!.
Now a nice crew cab pick-up in silver with contrasting blue graphics is another matter !!!!!!
regards, martin..

Re: Realistic rentals
Interesting Web Site No-nem,
I did browse a bit, didn't find any shop in Kuşadası (except one without a picture) , so couldn't compare the prices with the ones mentionned in another post
Appartments looked fine, but I also remarked that in one of them singles were not allowed ?!

Re: Realistic rentals
Just saw this article
According to new research from Holiday Lettings, Turkey's rental market is the best of the emerging markets. The company analysed demand for rental property across the 112 countries where they advertise property to let. Turkey came 7th; the highest position of the emerging markets. Gordon Lyons says, 'Given the still relatively low availability of low-cost flights to Turkey, the property rental market is still very much a developing one. This report does however show that rental demand is developing and the market is most definitely heading in the right direction. With the expected arrival of further low-cost flights to Turkey in the coming months, we expect this demand to increase further as the flight and property rental option becomes more and more competitive next to the package holiday.'
