Well screwy, most people buy with the intentions of renting but when they actually start to live in the properties, i guess they finf it difficult to rent out as they don't want others to be in thir home.

If it's simply for renting then don't furnish with expensive furniture as peeps may not treat the apt with the respect you obviouly would. Coming in from the beach or pool with wet costumes and sitting down on the sofa's for example, maybe renting to just close friend may be another alternative.

We are building another house for next year but Yvonne still doesn't want to rent out the one we have at the mo, I guess it's a long term investment for our daughters future.

Cheers

Paul

I think the general opinion is that if you have to, just rent it to people you know. I don't think there is a big rental market in Turkey at the moment. This might change over time.

The hotels are cheap enough and packaged holidays are pretty good value, the property market in Turkey is just starting to take off, as there is more exposure (which we are beginning to see in the British media) there will be more visitors and more demand for rental properties.

Until then, I won't bring too much rental income into account, when budgeting for buying your property in Turkey.

Same as Paul for us, we wanted the place as our home and furnished it as such. I am not sure about renting it to family though - my neareast and dearest are all freeloaders!!

As long as they leave it clean I don't mind, nice to have someone in it when we cannot be there.

Now that we've got out little place in the sun all sorted I'm deffo only allowing friends and family the use of it.
If I can get enough money to pay the ground fees etc charging them a nominal fee I'll be more than happy.

We have decided to rent our property(www.olivegrovevilla.co.uk) this year as a friend of ours has rented his and fingers crossed up to now has had no problems. I have had an enquiry today asking if a family can rent it for a month in Jul/Aug, if they rent they will be leaving the day we get there so we are going to go for it and I will keep you posted on what happens!!!!

We bought ours for ourselves with the view that we might rent it. Any rent would off set the charges but it is our home from home first so we would be particular about who used it.

Renting would be nice but then there are so many other places for rent that it might not be long till the market becomes very competitive - we will see how it goes.
