Service in restaurants in Calis
We have been to a lot of the sea front restaurants, as although we know they are more expensive we love the atmosphere there. To be honest we found them all much the same food wise, and generally the service was great until your order was taken, then we waited ages for our meal to be put on the table. One night we ended up going to the Turkish buffet at the Poyraz as we knew we would get a meal instantly! I dont know if this is a ploy to get you to buy more drinks, but this was in June and the restaurants werent particularly busy.
It could have been a one off as I dont remember complaining about the service on previous hols, just wondered if other people have experienced the same?

Re: Service in restaurants in Calis
I went to Bella Mammas Italian on 4th June and this was by far the longest wait for all service, drinks and food, however, once the meal arrived it was delicious. but getting their attention for more drinks throughout the meal was hard work, at one time had to go looking for a waiter, it took a complaint to the manager to obtain good service, not acceptable.
Konak restaurant on the main Calis road does the best stuffed chicken breast and well presented. friendly and attentive staff.
Lighthouse is good food but quite expensive, good service.
Forum Bar for Curry (but is very mild, more like a supreme but delicious) or Combo meals. price wise the least expensive by far.
Calis beach Restaurant Very good food but expensive this year.
Mangal Restaurant good food friendly staff and fairly priced.
Han Indian, expensive and long wait, food was good, but they have not mastered the art of curry.
Nil Bar on the beach front sunday dinner 10tl good friendly service and a greeting from Angel the owner.
Marias Bar On the main Calis Road, good quick serivce and good food, Sunday dinners very good. not the cheapest in the town but probably the best sunday dinner.
Have noticed that a majority of restaurants have increased their prices by a minimum of 5tl as the season has progressed. so expecting it to go even higher this month.

Bus stop located right on the beach front, upstairs a new dining area has been built and you can sit and watch the wonderful sunset over the water before it dips silently behind the mountainous back drop. Service and food very good, but the nmusic does tend to get louder as the night goes on.

Re: Service in restaurants in Calis
We went to Bella Mammas 4 times over the past 3 weeks and you do wait a while for your food but it is a big restaurant and is always packed so I dont mind waiting as long as the food is good. We got served quite quickly though.
We waited for ages for a menu and our order to be taken in Bambu and the meal took a while to come too, the same thing happened in Serkul 1.
Service at Bus Stop is good and the view, atmosphere and food is fantastic. Here and Bella Mammas have to be my 2 favourite restaurants in Calis.
Had a lovely meal at Harem - lamb chops in a clay pot.
Orient is still just as nice as always (not the same without Falcon though!)
We had a nice meal at Istanbul Golden Horn but they tried to write my meal down on the bill for 4 million more than it was on the menu - someone later sait that theyre quite well known for it so if you do eat there watch your bill! Nice food though and a cute waiter!
My favourite place is still the Megri lokanta in Fethiye - stuffed meatballs from the steam kitchen are just the best ever - craving them right now!

Hi Jenny, sounds like you had a good holiday, did you eat out at all?
I like the Megri too, I love the atmosphere in Fethiye at night and I agree, the sea front is not the same without Falcon there

Re: Service in restaurants in Calis
Had a great holiday thanx Tonya!
We eat out every night for 3 weeks - i'll be down the gym tomorrow for sure!
Falcon can be found most nights in scarlett if anyone wants to say hello to him, but its still not the same as seeing him in orient everynight!
We went to Fethiye quite a lot during the day (a change from just lying in bed hungover!) we discoevered the clothes shop Koton and they had a 50% sale on everything so I got my shopping high! Bought some bits of jewellery aswell and went out in Fethiye at night a few times - love the placel.

Re: Service in restaurants in Calis
Shame that most of these restaurants will soon be shutting down for the season, therefore, will have to start a list for the ones that remain open all year round. Should be interesting with more flights arriving in Dalaman during the winter months
Bars/restaurants open during the off season.
Forum Bar
Nil
Orient Express
Han
Bus Stop
