Ovacik
My daughter is staying in Ovacik at the moment and has asked if anyone could suggest the best place to do some clothes shopping. Its her first time in the area and is having a good time and having been to marmaris with her mates this year, they prefer Ovacik to Marmaris but still prefer good old Tinky lol.

Re: Ovacik
In Ovacik/Hisaronu I think it's just the usual markets, and to be frank the quality (and the prices) ain't there anymore. If she wants anything decent then Fethiye is the only option I suspect. We don't do much clothes shopping down there so can't really recommend anywhere specific. Lorraine might know more.

Re: Ovacik
Hi Speedy
John is right, for clothes shopping Fethiye is the best bet. Though to be honest, to my taste, there isn't even that much choice there, it seems to be either VERY high fashion (skimpy, short etc) or very frumpy! There's no pleasing some people is there!
Though there is one very nice shop in Hisaronu called Vessila & Brako (sp) which is in the main street about 100 metres down from the 'market square'. They have some lovely clothes, although, like most nice things i find, they don't do much over a size 10. Boo. But if you daughter is a skinny minnie, they have some lovely bits!

Re: Ovacik
If she's still here, there's Calis market on Sunday, Hisaronu on Monday and Fethiye on Tuesday.
It's mainly the same stallholders at each of the markets but because it's getting to the end of, what's been for them, a very bad season, there's some great bargains to be haggled for.
If she goes shopping in Fethiye, tell her, as a rough guide, the nearer to the Marina she gets, the more expensive it becomes.

Re: Ovacik
tell her to try Canes Boutique opposite Nefis Pide in Paspatur (near the old mosque). She has a big sale on at the moment cos she's selling up. Nice stuff too.

Re: Ovacik
thanks everybody for the advice at least there are some places we can tell her to try and maybe she will be happy, there is just no pleasing the ladies, anyway she could always wait until mum and dad go out in October and then I can buy her some clothes that I know she would just love(as if ) lol

Re: Ovacik
Fethiye has got some really nice shops now - im not into short skirts and im not a skinny minnie but ive picked up some lovely clothes there - there are quite a few shops on and around the roads opposite where the Gima is, thyeve got some lovely bags too. Still not too keen on the shoes but they'd do I suppose. Lots of nice dressy flip flops though.
Speedy, she could always shop online and get the clothes SHE likes(!) delivered to your house in the UK ready for you to bring over for her.
