Different driving question

I've been reading about a crackdown by the Turkish customs of the bringing in of alcohol at airports. Does anyone have any recent experience of driving into Turkey at Ipsala, or Cesme and wether or not the amount of alcohol was checked. thank you.

İ fail to see why people think they can ignore the law. Do what you like but please don't whine when you get caught.

Back to the rude responses. I asked a simple question, but once again pr**** like you cant give a simple answer. I have never whined on this forum, I'm not smuggling 40 gallons on illicit booze...just asking a question. Grow up you rude little person

Re: Different driving question

Why would you need to ask this question if you intended bringing in the legal amount?

And since when was suggesting people obey the law unacceptable?

Jandj politely asked a question, don't be so judgemental and condescending.

I think it was a perfectly reasonable question considering that the laws in Turkey are very often not worth the paper they are written on and can change from day to day and port to port. maybe they only want to bring in an extra bottle of vodka which lets be honest most of us have done, very openly, at duty free in customs at various Turkish airports without any member of staff saying it was illegal and refusing to sell it

I am all for sticking to the law where it is laid down and strictly adhered to by all including officials, but in Turkey.......................

Re: Different driving question

Hi Jandj,

I don't know about Ipsala, but I have not seen a change at the Cesme entry point in terms of foreigners bringing any items into Turkey. As a tip, it's a good idea to make sure to spend some money at the duty free store as well so that some tax money stays in Turkey.
