Re: Migros Points

Immac,

We have Migros and Tansas cards. I believe they have instore special offers that you can buy using your points. Last year when we were there on the eve of a religious festival (think it was Bayram) they had detergent on offer and we got a load of it on our points.

Re: Migros Points

hi ian...theres a machine in every migroa where you run your card through and it will print out how many points you have which can be used when you get to the checkout and the amount will come off your bill.

Re: Migros Points

Thanks Shirleyanne, I've had my Migros card for 3 years and never really known what to do with it. I keep meaning to find out and then get side tracked by other more exciting things! Are the points stored for ever and a day or do they have an expiry date?

Re: Migros Points

Do you have to be a resident to have a Migros card? I was under the impression that you did.

Re: Migros Points

No you just go in and ask for one. I think I paid 1 lira for it. You get a bit of discount when you present it at the till. I've never found out about the points you accumulate though.

Re: Migros Points

The usual topics of crooked builders, cost of flights and older women having it off with barboys, pales into insignificance against the really important questions this forum answers - how to redeem my points!
Thanks.
G&D, when you get to the checkout, before they start scanning, ask for a Migros Kart, for which they will add 1ytl to the bill. You then get store discounts that are available to card holders and a credit builds up on the card for money spent, which is shown on the till printout. Up till now I have used it for the discounts but not understood the next bit. And, if you don't use them in a set period they disappear (how long?).

Re: Migros Points

To redeem your points, ask one of the people at the customer service desk to show you how to get a "Migros Cheque".

Your card is swiped through a reader and you get a print-out that looks like a till receipt. This is a credit note and you hand it in at the check-out. The value of the Migros Cheque is then deducted from your bill.

I'm not sure, but I think that points are valid for a rolling 3 month period.

Re: Migros Points

The points collected must be used before the 31st of December each year, the Migros card is wiped clean at the year end, I found this out last year. At one point I had 400ytl and when I went to the machine and printed off the vouchers, which you can do up 50ytl each time, I also got a voucher for a free bottle of beer!!! Result.
