Re: Tesco codes

Nice to see a few others collect these points.

What do you use them for?

I convert to airmiles and then use them to subsidize my flights to/from Bodrum.

Re: Tesco codes

Pete you can get those points exchanged for Airmiles and if you pay with a Tesco credit card they are multiplied and any other spending attracts extra points. In a year I have amassed enough airmiles for 3 free return flights Gatwick to Izmir. When I say free, that isn't exactly correct as I could have had coupons to use against shopping in Tesco but I love having airmiles to use. Even better apart from the airmiles there are no extra taxes or anything to pay. Gatwick to Izmir return is 2500 points but you can pay part cash part points. Over the years we have used them for flights to Austria, Turkey, Switzerland, Italy, Germany and France.

Re: Tesco codes

I have my Tesco February statement here now. I understand the vouchers. I can use them to deduct from my shopping bill.
Then there are 240 clubcard points that I can earn if I buy particular items, for example 25 Extra clubcard points when I spend E1.50 or more on fruit and vegeatables and so on.
I did not know that you can convert points to airmiles.
How do I do this or is it for UK customers only?

I checked their website Grocery shopping, online supermarket&buy grocery Ireland - Tesco.ie. You can convert your vouchers to points. However you can only use them for the ferries, Stena Line and Irish ferries. Also they can be used in restaurants but no mention of flights.

Re: Tesco codes

Maybe you could phone them. I arranged to have my points converted to Airmiles automatically years ago and I get a statement from both Airmiles and Tesco 4 times a year. We've had so many great holidays using Airmiles and I feel it is well worth doing.

Re: Tesco codes

Hi Kampluma and Remus,
I rang them and the man said he did not know the deals himself but that I should check their website and click on "deals". I did this and the deals only apply to ferries, restaurants, days out etc. They have a different website for the UK with different deals on it. Hopefully in the future they may change their deals for us in Ireland.

Re: Tesco codes

Just a bit of extra info Pete. You have to be a bit canny with booking the flights as they are mostly BA flights and only a certain number of Airmiles seats will be available on each flight. There was loads of availability on the Izmir route for the summer months a few weeks ago but now they have almost all gone. So you can't afford to hang around, book them when you see them. You can book online or by phone and I have always found them to be really helpful. Anyway if you start collecting now you may have enough for next years flights. Also you can insure against the loss of Airmiles incase you need to cancel. I had to do that and got the whole lot back with no hassle.
