Hi guys,

just checking around for cheap calls to Australia this morning (Don't actually know anyone there but had time on my hands )he he.. I came across TopUpNow offering free "phonecalls". Me - phonecalls - Free ! yep it got me interested, I delved into there website and started looking for the catch.

Yep there was one, but quiet insignificant bareing in mind there are some serious savings for people with friends (that rules me out) in those far away places, there is a 5p connection charge! thats it, after that its free!! yep let me repeat that, there is a 5p connection charge! thats it, after that its free!!

They do most of the popular destinations for free e.g. USA, Austrailia, Canada (there is a list of all the free ones below).

How to use it, (if your too lazy to go onto the web and follow their instructions.
1. As there is no registration or handing over of credit cards etc you firstly need to call 0911-0331 331 (£ 1,50 per call) to charge your telephone number (funily enough with £1.50 of credit, MATHS: enough to make 30 free phone calls @5p/connection )

2. to call a number using the service simply dial their free phone number 0808 1700 123 then call the number you wish to connect to. (this number is the same number for any destination free or no so there is no messing about with different numbers for different countries, just one number)

3. Done!! firstly it will tell you the charge rate for this call/minute (i.e. 0p per minute) and then connect you to the call.

I used it this morning for 90 minutes and found the quality exceptional (but in fairness as good as the companies in this link i have posted previous

*****NOTE: for those lucky enough to use an Orange contract mobile phone you can use this (as 0808 is free as part of your contract unlike other cell providers) so this means you can call USA/Canada/Aus etc from your mobile phone for free (5p connection charge) and Turkey for 1p

Thats great, just noticed the Orange number (I'm on Orange), it's a pain when most of the 08xx numbers are not included in any inclusive minutes with mobile operators.

Just an update, I have been using it for almost a week now and it is superb, the quality of the call is great, and its the same number for every destination so there is no messing about with different numbers for different countries.

I have spent at least 5 hours on the phone to Austrailia and America and it has only cost me 20p!!

Thanks for that! All my in laws live in Australia, so we will definitly give this a try! No excuse now not to phone them for a chat!

I'm suprised more members haven't cottoned onto this yet, I know the thread is a bit long but hey Its FREE PHONE CALLS!! just pay the 5p connection then thats it, no time limit.

I have spoken to friends in Brisbane (once for 2 and a half hours) Quality is superb cost me 5p!
