Have you heard of MYFREECYCLE ????

I have joined a group called my free cycle , People offer all kinds of things free . Like lawn mowers fridges books anything really , and if you have unwanted stuff you offer it , people come and collect what you offer and like wise you collect what you want , Last week i collected a really good dog guard for the car And you can also post for items wanted , like baby seats pushchairs etc This saves throwing things away that people can make use of , and stops things going to landfill . There seems to be one in most areas 've offerd several tins of pain with only a little used , Today in my area heres a pine double bed as new !! I think a lot of folk prefer this rather than pay to get stuff removed ..Take a look on google you may be surprised at what you find and who wants what you no longer need ...............Diane,

Yes I have heard of it and know other people that have used it and think it's a great idea. It is a world wide organisation now operating in 85 different countries.

wish i'd known about this site before. we ended up taking a dining table and 6 chairs to the tip because no charity would collect, and it was immaculate!!!

Re: Have you heard of MYFREECYCLE ????

Well i had a nearly new cot mattress given to me last year for he dog sanctuary but a lady has posted she needs a cot mattress so i've offerd her her this one , I can get loads of old blankets for the dogs , and the child comes first , the dog will still be looked after ,I wish i'd worded the thread differently to spread the word ...I wonder if they have this in Turkey it would help so many people there ..............Diane

Yes they do though it doesn't seem so popular here, maybe because familes give things to other family member.

Re: Have you heard of MYFREECYCLE ????

i think also they use things til they have broken or fallen apart or have no life left in them....i dont see any of our family replace anything unless its had its day- even then it may be put on a fire in winter or used in an outhouse or mended etc.....
i also used gumtree in the UK and found that to be very useful before i moved to Turkey.
