Free BA Flights ????

Just recieved my money saving expert email

Seems you can get fre flights with some Credit Cards maybe worth changeing cards , ...Diane

Totally FREE BA Europe return
New credit card freebies! Plus 2x Flybe returns with a tenner's credit
Two big credit card free flight intro deals have just launched (you need a decent credit history). Ensure you always repay IN FULL every month so there's no interest cost. Totally free BA Europe return: Get a Lloyds Airmiles Duo* (15.9% APR) and for 3mths you get a mammoth 1 Airmile per 1 spent on the Amex up to a max 1,500. So use this card for all normal spending to hit this amount & it's enough for a BA return to Spain, Italy, etc including ALL taxes & charges. Alternatively get the same card at Airmiles* and spend 10 for an instant 1,500 miles voucher, yet here you must use the voucher by August and book at least 1 night in a hotel via the Airmiles website, which can be costly. 2 Flybe returns (you pay taxes) + 10: Until 30 Nov, get a Flybe card (18.9% APR) and spend owt on it (eg, buy a banana) by 31 Dec and you get a 10 credit and a voucher for two returns, though taxes & charges are c. 50. Yet we've had poor flight availability feedback using this voucher, so weigh that in. FULL info, more freebies and the credit score impact in the Updated Guide: Credit Card Freebies Related Card Guides: Top Airline Reward, Cashback, 0% For Spending

Re: Free BA Flights ????

I use my credit card air miles all the time and coming from the US that is important. I recently got a British Ariways card where they gave me a 50,000 mile bonus award and if I spent $2000 in the first three months they gave me another 50,000 miles. That and some spending for work and we had two round trip tickets to Istanbul in March for $350 total from San Francisco. American Airlines is dong a 50,000 mile bonus and United is doing a 30,000 mile bonus.

The BA card also has a $50 credit on any flight bought on BA and the United & American Air card give 2 for 1 miles on certain purchases such as gas.

If you can get the card for no annual fee or at least for the first year, get the card and bonus then spend to the necessary amount then throw the card away and get another. This is of course as long as you pay it off every month.

In one month on my United card I now have enough miles for a flight from SFO to Machester and from there I can go directly to Bodrum. Makes the entire round trip from San Francisco around $500. Pretty cheap for 7500 miles of travel.

we have the Flybe card but there aren't many destinations so check that out first before you apply for one. We got 2 free flights and thought we would go to Croatia but you can only go at certain times

Re: Free BA Flights ????

I like the sound of the 50,000 miles BA card...now thats the sort of mileage I'd need!!

Shame they never do such great mileage offers on UK based BA cards the best they got at the moment is just:

1,000 bonus BA Miles when you spend 500 in your first 3 months of Cardmembership.

or there's another BA Premium Plus card that gives

6,000 bonus BA Miles when you first spend on your card
#Collect 1.5 BA Miles for virtually every 1 you spend and 3 BA Miles for every 1

No where near as generous as the US BA card offers

50,000 miles is the kinda mileage that'd entice me to spend on the card...that plus cashback..

Be awesome if theres a card that does airmiles plus cash back

Re: Free BA Flights ????

I have a visa card that gives me the option of cash or rewards. I get one point for every dollar spent and then I can redeem the points on travelocity. Number of points needed are determined by the cost of the plane ticket you would be buying. After doing some quich math I calculate it at 1.8% on average. I recently looked at a fare to Manchester that would have been $1,250 cost 70,000 points. The card is called "Flex Perks". It is from US Bank so not likely available in the UK.

Re: Free BA Flights ????

We've used to BA Miles scheme for years now, and when redeeming always choose business class as a treat. Works out you pay about the same as economy ticket. Makes travelling to the US very pleasant.
