Dalaman High Street Jan '08

For those of you who are missing Dalaman here are a few photos to remind you of 'home'.

The first 3 show the new council building/shopping centre, which is not far from completion. They are just finishing that section of the road re-surfacing as well. Note the plastic palm tree has gone, but I hope they will put it back when they put the roundabout in. (Otherwise I will have to start a campaign!)

The last 2 are of the other end of the high street, which again is nearly finished. They have cleared all the old buildings from around the Yapı Kredi bank and are about to start building a new business centre and police station.

We are getting posh, aren't we?

Hi Alan,
The only golf around at the moment is the VW Golf.
I think the new shopping mall in Dalaman will be built way before the golf course!!!!

Hi

Put us down for the "PPP" aswell, as all our directions to places for friends and family all make references to the Plastic Palm trees!!

We are out beginning of May, and can't wait to sample all the new shops and restaurants we have so wonderfully been kept up to date with thanks to the TLF!!

QAs for the golf being ready for this year..... as of last October it was a case of !!!!Ha ha!

Hi Dons, We Bought Two lovely cream sofa's(1 is a sofa bed) in Dalaman, turn right at the high street and then first left and then first left again and the shop is on the right hand side. It's called Kelebek. They also sell kitchen furniture too at the front of the store and the sofa's are near to the back. There is also Beko on the main road, and a few more too.Good luck.

Hi Dons,
we also purchased our sofas and dining furniture from kelebek. Not cheap, but good quality, they have a website, with an english section.

Also try Orhanlar, very good prices, especially for garden furniture. They are behind the high street, on the left, entering from the airport road. They also have a website, it is only in Turkish, but shows the shop and some products.
