Re: How Many People Purchased In Dalaman?
Hello Matty...looks as though no one wants to admit to buying in Dalaman! We purchased a villa last year..still waiting for the Tapu though. We also have a villa in Ovacik but as we are more or less resident we wanted more than a holiday villa, somewhere out of the immediate tourist area, with a good sized garden and more functional space for permanent living ...you can get more for your money in Dalaman!!!
best regards
Roly

Re: How Many People Purchased In Dalaman?
Hi There,
there are a few of us!
We have bought a place in Dalaman and it should be ready hopefully by May.I can't wait. We will hopefully be moving out there if we can sell our apartment in Northern Cyprus. At the moment we are living in Newcastle upon Tyne. We were living in Kyrenia until last September but came back to the uk to earn some money.

Re: How Many People Purchased In Dalaman?
As an agent I am finding more and more requests for Dalaman properties. Maybe due to the Golf course being built soon.
So Matty you may have more neighbours sooner than you think.

Re: How Many People Purchased In Dalaman?
Hi,
Thanks for your replies, well as i have said before we have no regrets in buying our first villa nearly 4 years ago,a sound investment and hopefully in not too distanant future our beautifull retirement home, as in 4 years we have seen the prices trebble, prices now in line with other tourist area's. 4 years ago Dalaman had only a handfull of English property owners, now i beleive it to be a few hundred.
Regards Ann

Re: How Many People Purchased In Dalaman?
Hi Ann,
We've bought in Dalaman area and are looking forward to moving out there this year.
We were wondering whether you have noticed much difference in the town itself over those four years.
Do you think Dalaman will be the centre of all the new interest in the area or do you think it will be in Sarigerme or Dalyan?
Regards
Mike and Hilary

Re: How Many People Purchased In Dalaman?
Hi Mike & Hilary.
Yes we have noticed a difference in Dalaman Town, 4 years ago no EMLEKS. Now there must be about 20 a bit like Fetithye.
We have also noticed very old buildings being knocked down making way for new buildings EMLEKS!!!!!!!! also you now have more choice of more fashionable shops, i.e Furniture and Clothes, 2 more supermarkets have appeared in the Town.
And of course a lot more tourist's walking around. Last May they Held a big Festival in Dalaman announcing it as at tourist area, with live bands and a massive fire work display. The cost apparently went into thousands of pounds, personally we thought it was a waste of money as it could have been spent on other much needed things, a few years ago they had a programme in place for stray dogs to be neautered or spayed injected, and if fit released back onto the streets. Now they have abandoned this programme due to lack of money. We payed for 1 bitch to be spayed last year as someone had dumped her as a puppy, then when we out there in October I found 2 abandoned 6 week old puppies in a box on a rubbish heap that was about to be burnt,
I took these 2 puppies back to our villa as they would not have survived on there own. We had then both injected and are now still at our villawith the other stray Chico. when we out in April we will be having them both spayed as they are both bitch's. I would like very much to find them a kind caring home as I think that every living thing needs a chance in life.
Unfortunately for us it cost us a fortune every time we go out there for dog food which is so expensive in turkey flea collars, shampoo, etc, Such a pity that some of the owners of these dogs do not do the responsible thing as an owner and have them neatured in the first place.
Oh well sorry if i have bored you but I cannot stand to see cruelty to any animal.
Regards Ann

Re: How Many People Purchased In Dalaman?
Hi Ann,
Thanks for your very interesting post. I'm glad to hear that the locals are pleased with all the changes.
Shocking to hear of the cruelty to those poor puppies and very kind of you to care. I suppose it happens everywhere but I always thought that Turks have a love of animals (except Sacrifice festival I suppose!).
Thanks again.
Mike

Re: How Many People Purchased In Dalaman?
Hello, we've bought a property in Dalaman through Dalaman Estates, on the Meadow Side compex. This comprises of I think, 8 semi detached Villas about 5 minutes drive from Dalaman centre, on the opposite side of Dalaman to the airport. Has anyone else purchased nearby?
