Hi,

I'm staying in my place for the first time in two weeks time and I'm curious as to the issue of dustbin collection.

Does anyone know what happens about having your dustbin collected in the Dalaman area? Do they even collect the rubbish from properties outside of the main town? If so how regularly is it done?

Not sure about Dalaman, but here in Alanya we have ours emptied every night, about midnight in the summer months and 7.30pm in winter months.

In Okcular we don't have dustbins, there are communal industrial wheelie bins sited along the main road that are emptied every morning. Not any hassle to take a bag up there.

In Dalaman it is the same as V6Cod above, you should have communal bins along the road nearby which you drop you rubbish in.

Where abouts in Dalaman is your property?

Hi Smiler,

Our developer was asked if some bins could be placed on site at the Hillside complex and they organised everything with the Dalaman belediye so that two huge bins arrived soon after. It might be worth trying the same thing with your developer.

I've never been quite sure about what to do with the rubbish and never got round to asking. There isn't one by my complex, I've been taking a bag every morning to the bin outside the local shop where it seems to be 1 for green stuff one for glass and paper and another one. There seem to be a few like that dotted along the road so I assume now that I'm doing the right thing. I did wonder for a while if it was the shop's own bin but nobody has ever said anything.
