moving to dalyan

Hiya
i am very new to this forum stuff but i have visited dalyan a few times and have fallen in love with it. i wondered if you could help me by giving me a bit of info on how i would go about housing/apartments and getting a job? i understand its quite difficult to get a job in turkey and i wondered if there's any links you could give me or advice?
i first of all plan to stay in turkey for 6 months, and then go travelling for 6 months and then come back and stay permanantly.
how do you think i could go about doing this and is it possible?
thankyou!

Beth

Re: moving to dalyan

First things first, you will find it nigh on impossible to work. You need a work permit and these are about as readily available as hen's teeth!!

I don't know anything about your background, but would say that unless you have the funds to support yourself without working, then living in Dalyan would be a no-no - sorry.

Re: moving to dalyan

First of all, rent for a year before making any life changing decisions. Looking for rentable furnished property is better done in the winter, you can rent short term from Ozalp whilst looking. Jobs will be limited to tour companies and not usually in Dalyan. Going touring is easy from or around Turkey, Istanbul is a major hub for air travel and fairly easy to get to. Best of luck.

But maybe Bethgray wants to retire here and is just thinking about a job to keep away the boredom? She doesn't give any details about her situation.

Re: moving to dalyan

Charity perhaps you'd like to introduce yourself and explain about the jobs you may be offering to our members. I have altered your first post as it was straight into this thread without any introduction and you put an email address on. Are you able to get work permits for foreigners? If so I am sure that lots of us on here would be interested on how you manage to.

Hi, as the word 'charity' implies I represent a charity; the association of Dalyan Tourism, Culture and Environmental Conservation. I am the deputy head of the oldest NGO in Dayan that was founded in 1992. Unfortunately we don't and won't get work permits for foreigners. All we can do is to arrange part time teaching for our associations' members in our projects.
Kind Regards

Charity, there are many members on here whose Forum name is not pertinent to their employment, so therefore why do you feel I should know you ran a charity on your first posting? If you introduced yourself to the Forum using our Introduce Yourself Thread before your reply to Beth, then all would have been clear.
