Dalyan, things to do places to see Recommendations?

A question for all you Dalyanites out there.

We've got family and their friends coming out for a week in a week's time and they are staying in the Hotel Metiin.

Any recommendations for places to visit that are within easy reach of Dalyan? Also places to go, places to eat....

This will be their first visit to Turkey so we want to make a good impression!

Start them off with the baptism of fire or should I say mud. Everything can only get better after that experience.

Re: Dalyan, things to do places to see Recommendations?

I find restaurant recommendations difficult as one mans meat is another mans poison, however the Lime Restaurant is very nice imo.

Lunch up at one of the trout restaurants in yuvarlacay is nice and will get them away from the heat of the day.

Village Breakfast at the ekin club on the way to the beach is a good way to start the day and they won't need to eat for a while after it.

The ruins of Kaunos are good but it will be hot there so it is an early morning or late afternoon trip.

Re: Dalyan, things to do places to see Recommendations?

Thanks folks.

Having recently discovered that a friend of ours has given himself several excellent reviews on Trip Adviser by getting his wife, his father, his mother, his neighbour and his neighbour's cat to join and review I'm a bit sceptical about using TA. I thought local knowledge might be better.

Thanks folks. Can you still get a boat ride down to the beach and back again later in the day without having to book day trips with lunch included? If so, roughly how often do the boats run please?

Re: Dalyan, things to do places to see Recommendations?

If you get on the Belediye boats then it is a flat return fare to the beach, they are pretty frequent.

We prefer the other end of the beach which is reached via a Dolmus. This is where Kaptan Junes turtle rescue centre is located. But the trip down the river is very nice.

Yes the trip down the river is nice. However the reeds are so high it is a bit of a mystery tour right up to the last turn.

Can thoroughly recommend this place.

The cafe there does 2 small turtles in Yarim Ekmek with rice chips and small salad for only 15 tl.

Excellent value plus you are contributing to the sustainable use of this delicious seafood.

metin.olive.pasha.heiden garden.saki.and small house on the round about near binlik hotel.had meal in july and they where good.we were going to public park near the river close to roak tombs and find the prices for ice cream and hot or cold coffee cheaper then main street shops.
