Burglaries in Dalyan

For information
Another 2 villas were broken into in the Ataturk Mah area last night. That makes 7 that I know about in the last 8 weeks. It's nice to see the Jandarma are out there working hard to catch the bad guys (not). So be aware, keep your neighbours informed and stay safe.

Re: Burglaries

Since my last post I have heard of another 3 burglaries in other parts of Dalyan. So despite the official line I reckon that constitutes an outbreak

Re: Burglaries in Dalyan

Hi Alan
To the best of my knowledge very little. I was there when one of the victims asked the "investigating Jandarma" are there many burglaries in Dalyan. The response was no very few. So they are probably working on the theory that if you do nothing for long enough the problem will go away. However Dalyan's reputation as a safe, relatively crime free place starts to go down the toilet. If nothing is done about this growing crime then ultimately both residents and business will suffer.

Re: Burglaries in Dalyan

Hi petrodow
I had a strange enquiry for renting my villa in Dalyan .
From a Bonnie Taylor just in case someone else gets the same email.
Quote
"I would like to rent your Vila next August summer time from August 1 to august 15"
"Can you send me a map and or an addresse so I can see where it is."

I replied with some pictures and price info also asked how many people in the group, and what ages???

She replied.
" I am not prepared to,give you that information untill you send me your villa addresse"

So as I felt this wasnt comfortable to me I have since ignored the repeat email.
I might be being paranoid but my gut instinct told me to move on.

Has anyone else ever had any similar emails???

Of course it might be all legit.

I think your gut reaction was correct, Alan. Looks like they are getting more 'organised' if this is the case. If only they could put this much effort into doing something legitimate....

Hi Alan
None of us are being paranoid. It's one of these subjects that nobody seems to want to talk about where in fact if we all give each other the heads up on things like this maybe we can minimise the problem. Let's not forget we are seen as targets and the powers that be appear to be inactive.

I have decided.
No,phone number.
No address
No group info.
Then I won't respond .

All of my guests that have booked have been very forthcoming so they will be my standard for ,the future.

I think this site is a really good way to tell others of any unusual behaviour very quickly

Hi all

I have some thoughts on this and who might be responsible. Not individually but more a gut reaction to where the information on villa occupancy is being made available but not to whom.In July we had 2 separate incidents where local vendors came into our garden and offered menus etc. our house is such that we could not be seen from the road. I have had a query from one of them in previous years as to whether we would be letting. We were in of course but how often did we have visitors when we were not?. Our neighbours were burgled this year and the gendarme were then querying the same thing. We are back next week for a fortnight if anyone would like a brainstorming session on the situation. As an extra does anyone know if any non yabaci houses have been entered?
