Be aware - Migros Dalyan

WARNING everybody! Just been to Migros Dalyan and all of their frozen food has completely defrosted. Soggy everything. Pizza's, fish, vegetables, chips everything. Spoke to the manager and he said it will be OK and they will get it fixed later then it will all freeze again. Tried to explain that it should all be binned, I'll let you guess the outcome. You have been warned.

Re: Be aware

Some would not pass a Basic Food Hygiene course! I have just bought some borek in Kipa, as she was getting it into the packet using a slice she dropped it but managed to catch it with her free hand, which was not gloved. Looking pleased with herself she popped it into the bag and smiled sweetly: ho-hum. It still tasted OK.

Re: Be aware

Will avoid the frozen section me thinks! Not that I am adverse to a bit of dirt, certainly eating mud pies as a child has given me my current ox like constitution but defrosted/refrozen food is a definite out!!

Re: Be aware - Migros Dalyan

Slightly off track, years ago I asked for something with chips in a takeaway, the food was put in a tray and the assistant started pouring salt on the food, I said stop I don't want salt, she said OK and proceeded to blow the salt off the food. Needless to say I didn't buy it and she couldn't understand why I didn't want it!!!!

Going back to the Migros issue, our local town had a very nasty cheap frozen food shop and when frozen food was delivered it would be piled up outside the shop in boxes and left for hours. I was always surprised people kept shopping there as I thought they would all have been at home sat on the pot!!!

So its ok as I have seen to use the same gloves to pick up raw then cooked meats sweep behind the counter pickup the rubbish and put in bin, wearing gloves for hygiene purposes is a misconception, how often do you see them being changed

To be fair, the standard shown at the counter is rather good in Kipa. What goes on out of sight is unknown, but that is true in UK too.

Thank goodness it wasn't BIM. I don't rate Migros frozen at all. Spent loads of time searching for oven chips and yet to find them. Must buy a new deep fat fryer or bring over a chip pan. Not healthy I know but you can't live forever and chips are pretty well nice with everything. Can't believe the French get credited with their discovery. After all they did put the kings eye out.

Don't know where you have been looking but all of the chips/wedges from any supermarket will cook perfectly well in the oven. 200 degrees, 20 minutes or to your liking, jobs done
