Question G plan furniture and removal costs from the UK

Does anyone know if you can buy G Plan furniture in Turkey?

Also, has anyone recently used a Removal Company from the UK to Turkey? Any idea on costs?

Re: G plan furniture and removal costs from the UK

I don't think you can buy G Plan in Turkey. There is a very high import duty imposed on goods not manufactured in Turkey. There are some nice furniture shops, if you look on line at Yatas and Bellona you will get an idea of the style and price of furniture available. With regard to shipping companies, having done it at a great expense and loads of hassle I would advice anyone considering it to think again. If you want to take out personal possessions then perhaps paying cargo on your flight for extra baggage might be a better option.

If you go shopping for furniture in Turkey take a pair of sunglasses and your sense of humour.

Know what you mean Steve, but it's possible to find nice, plain, modern furniture now, even in Datca! The other option is Ikea, and you can always buy on-line if you have a Turkish credit card.

Definitely agree that the cost/hassle of shipping furniture is more than it's worth.

Thank you for this Val. We have looked at settees and chairs whilst over but can't find any with high backs. Any suggestions other than the sites you have already suggested?
