Out of town restaurant recommendation?

Hi all,

Off to Dalyan again in the summer but this time for 3 weeks (due to a mix up over the villa last year Oruc gave us a free week). We've been travelling to Dalyan for the last 18 years or so and I'm looking for a suggestion for a new restaurant out of town to try.

We've tried places like Gunlukluk, Bayobasi, Sunset restaurant, Akkaya garden etc. Pick up is obviously better but it's no trouble for us to arrange a minibus if needs be. There'll be 13 (10 adults, 3 kids) of us when we go so the cost of a minibus between us is negligible. Looking forward to hearing suggestions.

Tracy

Try Ley Ley on the road out of Dalyan as if you were on the way to the airport. Golbasi Restaurant is on the beach road and they did do a pick up service. Further round is Ekin Dip Dag Restaurant by Sulunger lake. Just a few to be going on with

Tuana at Koycegiz is good Maybe you could get a boat across the lake at night which is also great fun.

Ley Ley is a beautiful restaurant. The setting is gorgeous with lots of birds and animals, a shop and they do a car service. Enjoy!

Re: Out of town restaurant recommendation?

Thanks for the suggestions. We've been to LeyLey a few times but last time we were there the service was terrible. Think we chose the wrong night as there was live music on and the place was heaving. Food seemed to have slipped slightly as well.

Have been to Golbasi as well. Tend to visit on a lunchtime so that the kids can feed the terrapins and use the pedalo. Had a fantastic turkish breakfast there last year so will be repeating that!

Not tried Ekin Dip Dag, so that sounds good. Not heard of Tuana either so another for the list.

Alan, we've been to Akkaya and sunset but everyone's voting to visit Sunset again. Was a lovely trip up and fab food. Think I still have his business card/menu somewhere

Am I correct in thinking Alan that you have a villa near the sports park in maras area? Not sure if I'm thinking of someone else.

Thanks again folks. Much appreciated.

Re: Out of town restaurant recommendation?

Agree with Flowerpotman, the Tuana does great food and is in a nice position by the lake in Köyceğiz.

Also agree about the Ekin Dip Dag. We prefer it to the Golbası for Sunday breakfast and is also by the same lake, so plenty of fish, terrapins and water snakes to watch.

Another for your list in the Botanik on the main road from Ortaca to Dalaman, near the BP garage. Consistently excellent food and open through the winter. Hubby and I went for dinner on Sunday and shared a large sea bream (not farmed) and some red snapper. The fish were beautifully cooked. Our friend had a peppered steak which he enjoyed too. After dinner they serve either fruit or hot 'fırın helvası' which is divine, if you like sesame flavour.

If you like going out for breakfast Dalya Life near the Göcek tunnel is another great option. It is a small boutique hotel, but is open to non-guests. I believe dinner is excellent as well, but we love our Sunday breakfasts. Great for kids too, large and small, who can take a boat out on the shallow 'river' while they wait for breakfast to arrive.

From our experience the Botanik Restaurant has good customer service, good prices and food is excellent.
