Re: Horse riding

Yes its about a mile off the main road, but well worth a visit just to look around the facilities they have, they are happy to do this, and have a drink/meal while watching the showjumpers training.

Im hoping to get to Padok too so will report back hannah, the only other place I have seen healthy horses is Akkaya at the bird nest restayrant, you will be able to get transport there once the season starts. I used to compete when I lived in uk/uae and hoped to continue riding to same standards here, unfortunately the sport doesn't seem as popular in our area. Fingers crossed for Padok!

niamh. The Padok is used by international show jumpers and has superb facilities including a large indoor arena and a large show jumping arena with what must be one of the largest Turkish flags there is flying over it. you will not be disappointed

Not comparing any stable in particular and actually none in the Altinkum area, but, I always fancied going riding when in turkey but after comparing the horses with those I used to ride in the UK I've always felt sorry for them and no way would I want to lumber them with my weight, I'm not overly heavy, just feel sorry for their horses.

Old fogey, Padok has warm bloods and the place at Akkaya had a stocky cob, as well as a Tb x WB. Pics I've seen from Padok, horses look well fed and muscled and the ones I've seen at Akkaya were the same.

Re: Horse riding in Dalyan

Hi Hannah
Its Hannah Alis wife....i am a keen horse rider, used to have a horse here but he became too much when i was pregnant. I like to go to Padock in Gokova for a proper lesson and get the blood pumping but there is the place on the way to Marmaris called 'Pinar At' that you can go on hacks at, the horses are not the best but well looked after and they can gallop if you want. I like to go to both but both are about 45 minutes drive. Im in the process of buying a car so if you want to go halfs on the petrol maybe we could make it a regular thing to get our horsey fix!! Locally there is the man in Eskikoy (he is looking after my horse for me) but they are all in fields and not sure if he is doing it anymore..
