Tips re Dalyan and Fethiye

I am looking for recommendations re a 4 day trip to the Dalyan /Fethiye area . I have a car so am mobile and prepared to go 125 miles any direction each day. I am particularly interested in the river cruise and the ancient caves etc in Dalyan but am looking for any tips re where to go on the other 2 days available. Thanks in anticipation

Re: Tips re Dalyan and Fethiye

If in the area then Saklikent Gorge is a nice stopping off point.

*******
The Ghost village of Kaykoy just outside of Hisaronu.
Obviously the Dalyan cruise for a nice relaxing day out.

Or there is also:
Acropolis at Pergamon
Ephesus at Selcuk (especially the Ampitheater)
House of the Virgin Mary (on the way to Pamukkale)
Pamukkale (Cotton Castle)
Pasha Mountain at Cappadocia

Lemon/olive lounge hands down. They do several different trips, my favourites are the moonlight cruise to the lake (incorporates mud baths) and the day trip to ekincik

Re: Tips re Dalyan and Fethiye

If you are in Dalyan on Monday, catch one of the boat trips to Koycegiz market. You have a lovely boat trip, an opportunity to wander round the market and have a leisurely lunch on the lakeside.
The row boats across the river and a walk to Kaunos is a great way to spend a few hours. If you have a car, a drive up Radar Hill another good trip, you could tie this in with a drive to turtle hospital end of the beach. A river boat to the other end of the beach is also worth considering.
Only having 4 or 5 days means you will not have time to see everything, especially if you want to include trips to Sakilent Gorge etc. during your stay.
There are many great restaurants in Dalyan, my favourites include Saki, close to where to row boats go across to Kaunos, Ceyhan on the river are two I always go to when I visit. I also always go to Cafe Symrna, Dalyan Iz, Gerder's Cafe, all do wonderful snacks and cakes etc, Hulya's homemade traditional turkish cakes at Symrna are the best I think. Louise at Dalyan Iz's shortbread is also worthy of a mention.
I hope you enjoy your stay in Dalyan.

particularly on Monday as its market day and they run boats across the lake.

There isn't a great deal at Kaunos itself but on the way after the end of the cemetary turn right and it takes you to the rock tombs and if you ignore the "no entrance" sign at the rickety gate you can scramble with care up to the tombs themselves.
