Renting dongles

Anyone know where you can rent one in Dalyan?Got quoted 30 from 1 place who will only do it for a week at a time. However we have guests staying at our place who only wanted one for 4 days but have had to pay for a full week..Just wondered if anyone does it for less or charge by the day..Thanks.

Re: Renting dongles

Sorry but I'm confused, are you talking about Turkcell Vinn dongles for internet?

If you are then you can buy the dongle outright, including sim card for about 100TL ish, after that you just top up the credit you want. From as little as 12TL for 1GB for a week.

I didn't know you could rent them, but someone is on a nice little earner if they are renting them out at 30 a week.

I think the Wi Fi one is about 90 all in . And then you can leave it in your place for renters to use .

Re: Renting dongles

I believe that it is only with Turkcell that you can vary the top-up period and amount of gb required. The period purchased can be 1 week, 1 month or 3 months and the gb can be 1, 3, 4 or 10 with a variation of periods.

People with other providers say they can't do this, so something to keep in mind as some people may want to top up for a week only or if they are there for longer they would need to top-up for a month.

The basic dongle (approx. 100 tl with data sim and some gb) needs to be plugged in to your laptop/computer and only supports one device. The WiFi mobile broadband device (nearer 100), mentioned by Evo80, supports up to 5 gadgets so would work for tablets or smart phones where there is no USB port. I paid 245 tl for my WiFi and that included 3 gb for 3 months - I already had a data sim card. I believe if you go to a main Turkcell shop and not an agent you can find them cheaper.

Whatever you decide, leave the Data Sim line number in your property, they would then be able to top-up the desired amount/period at any Turkcell shop.

Re: Renting dongles

That price has dropped a lot . The web site says coming soon ,so assume the price is not quite there . Yes good price . I think the sim is about 8 extra plus about 60 tl 4 mbyts top up ,but still good basic price .Web site says it will support up to 10 devices [mine bought 3 years ago says supports 5 .] Yes its best to buy at a main Turkcell shop as the agents charge a fair bit more .

Re: Renting dongles

I get confused when talking about internet and technology in general.People have said that you can only get the internet in Turkey if you have a residents visa,is this true as I don't have one?
If I can get basic wi-fi with top up available then it is something that I would consider, for both ourselves and guests to top up.
