Water Bills

I pay my water bills by direct debit but there has not been a payment made for some considerable time. Is this because of the changes in the administrative set up or have I, for some reason, slipped through the net?
I would prefer to pay every two months as before rather than get a huge bill later on.
I understand the theory of it being better in my bank account than the supplier but will I be able to risk not investing it in Efes and that new handbag for the wife?
Am I alone?

Re: Water Bills

You will have to cancel your existing DD and set up a new DD. Water meters are now starting , albeit very slowly, to be read and bills issued.

We are still waiting for our meter to be read.

Re: Water Bills

Um that's interesting we haven't had a bill yet this year and it is supposed to go directly out of the bank. Expecting to have no water when we next get there.
We got charged 50tl by the bank because only the electric bill had been paid and it has to be at least two payments to have free banking. Could it be the change over from Dalyan to Ortaca that has caused the water bill problem

Re: Water Bills

Yep got the same problem in Fethiye, no longer FESKI, now comes under Muğla, so no meters read since April and still waiting for the new readings/bills.

Re: Water Bills

Water meters should have been read on the 15th August but seen no one yet, called in to the new MUSKI office in Ortaca to pay my bill and was told that direct debits should be able to be accepted from the end of the month

Re: Water Bills

They have been reading the water meters in different areas of Dalyan for the last few weeks. One friend in Metinler Cad had his read at the end of July under the new Mugla authority. Another in the same area had theirs read a week or so ago.
In the villages, like ours, we are still waiting.

Re: Water Bills

The Mugla Buyuksehir has just read ours for the first time since the changeover. As they are a new authority to most any existing DD will need changing however according to their website they do not have agreements with all banks. We have been told that if bills are not paid water will be shut off in similar fashion to electricity.

I have heard exactly the same .
I have had a friend in Dalyan go to Ortaca and pay my bill last week so I won't get cut off .
I am not back out till mid sept but have guests at villa needing water.
If your circumstances are similar please consider taking action I don't want to worry anyone but my Turkish friend said the payment window wasn't very long .

Alan .
