Decorating supplies in Dalyan

Hi there. Can anyone advise me on the best place in Dalyan to buy decorating supplies - paint, brushes, rollers etc please? I will be having a decorating splurge next week and need to get the necessary items as soon as I arrive in Dalyan. Thanks in advance.

Re: Decorating supplies in Dalyan

As far as Koctas is concerned you are a few hours car or bus ride to it so it would have to be online shopping.
However there are two main yapi markets (DIY) in Dalyan for your paint/decorating needs.
One is Ege Ticaret on the side road opposite Migros (opposite Ali the bicycle repair man).
One of the guys who used to work there has set up his own shop in competition. Come out of Ege and turn left down towards the market and the shop is on the left hand side (opposite what was the Tulip restaurant/The Steak House.)
There is a 3rd one on the main road, on the opposite side to Migros going out of town direction but that is mainly DIY equipment, hi-viz clothing etc etc.

Thanks - I know about the DIY shops....is there still that paint shop in the area behind Migros? If so, is that better than the DIY stores for paint?

Re: Decorating supplies in Dalyan

The prices are within a lira or two difference depending on the brand of paint. Filli Boya, Polisan, Marshalls are all much of a muchness and are available at the DIY shops. I think the paint shop you are referring to is still there but I always got a better deal at one of the others.
The only big difference in pricing is if you opt for Jotun paint - quite a bit more expensive but I know some people opt for it. There is a supplier of Jotun in Ortaca.

Re: Decorating supplies in Dalyan

I find the English speaking lad at Ege Ticaret to be most helpful. I now buy everything I need there and he will happily deliver to your house if you ask.

His advice is usually spot on and he will order things in for you if not stocked.

I thought the one behind Migros has closed?

Val

Re: Decorating supplies in Dalyan

Depends Val on how we are determining "behind Migros". If its next to the Shell garage (the old Bosch shop) then that has closed and is now the large stationers shop. However there was a paint shop on the back road way behind Migros on the road that comes out at the Binlik hotel. Not sure if thats still there.
Have used both Ege and the newer one where the guy that used to work at Ege is and both are good and similar priced. Ege is now major stockist of Filli Boya paint and the other is mainly Polisan.

The fili boya shop is still there but I've never seen it open. I use ege and have had spot on advice. I'm sure online would get better deals but I'm too impatient!
