Ongoing noisy building work

We have had constant excavators and concrete lorries coming and going next to our villa complex for the last few weeks whilst a new block of apartments is being built for locals. Now that the concrete frame is up they are still making a huge racket cutting the metal framework for the roof and cutting bricks etc.
I thought all external work had to stop on the 15th May!
Builders don't speak English so who can I contact to have a word with them to either stop or keep the noise down?
Cheers

Been going on for 13 years around me!

We were told in 2003 that building work in tourist areas should stop in May but it never happened

Re: Ongoing noisy building work

There is a world of difference between "had to stop on the 15th May!" and does stop. Also the "locals" live there; their holiday isn't being interrupted.

Re: Ongoing noisy building work

Hi Paul,
I dont know the answer, the only reason I have replied is because the answers you have been given all seem a little rude and unhelpful, I would imagine that a trip to the council with someone that speaks Turkish would not go amiss, or Maybe the Zabita at the local nick could help, is there no one around your area that you could ask what is the procedure, you are right there is supposed to be time constraints on building work though I dont know the specifics, and maybe that's only in "tourist areas"?.

Re: Ongoing noisy building work

It depends if you are actually within a designated 'tourist area'. You may be surprised to learn just how small they are as the Belediye may have drawn the lines years ago and never updated them to keep up with expansion.

You could look at this two ways ....
A) there are lower tourist numbers so they shouldn't look to lose any more through excess noise in contravention of their own rules
B) there are lower tourist numbers so there are less to annoy so carry on chaps..
