A Brilliant idea and what a wonderful experience it will be to do that cycle.My son lives in nz and also did a sponsored cycle for testicular cancer .We too have a place in datca and would be happy to give you something towards your cause.When do the two of them think they will reach datca ???

Hi Ruthie it was my other half who made the post but I asked him to remove it (he always does as he is told lol) as I thought with all the unpleasant posts going on at the moment it wasn't the right time and I didn't want unwanted comments coming our way.
Anyway it wasn't deleted quickly enough as you saw it!!
So I will post the link again. It's my son and his friend who are doing it. Their University is paying for the food as they will need to eat a lot on the trip and I have a feeling I will be paying for the majority of the rest of it including a big party in Datca in September. All will be welcome to that - no doubt in Maradonas. Of course there will be a collection for their chosen charity.
Anyone who would like to sponsor them with a donation for their charity can contact me or turn up at the 'knees up' in September - end of the second week we think. Any other help such as the loan of very lightweight tents, some kind of welcome/well done banner for the arrival in Datca or any other ideas would be welcome. I'm sure they would be happy to wear advertisments for any business etc.

What great lads doing that! With all the bad press youngsters get these days it is nice to see. I hope they have some good padding!!!

Oh they have all the tight lycra stuff with padding in all the important areas lol. I've told them to get the lycra pics on their web site for all the young ladies.

Well what a night! At least I won't have to worry about a certain person coming on here moaning about cyclists, one of the reasons we nearly didn't post it LOL. Sorry to post back to back but thought I should before Harem gets on here with her eagle eyes. I have well and truly told off the two lads who wrote the web page for several spelling errors. They in turn told me off for posting it as they haven't finished it or checked it - so there we go it's my fault and I was only trying to help. However they were a little sheepish when I told them I had one lovely offer of sponsorship from Ruthie.

I would be happy to supply any banners needed and
Tshirts. I thought maybe some sticky vinyl labels might
be an idea for taking along with them they wont weigh
much or take up any room but they could stick them on
people on the way with a link to the web site to donate
just a thought

oooh and thanks for a good excuse to book a holiday in
September to cheer them into Datca

haven't read the web link yet, so haven't spotted any glaring errors!!I remember you wrote ages ago asking if anyone had cycled to Turkey and I gave you a name - were they able to be of help? If not we could always try them again. Good luck to them, at least it isn't a lone cyclist, always better with a partner/companion and for a very good cause. Whilst on that subject - did you know that the biggest cause of testicular cancer is washing up liquid? Please ensure that all dishes, cups, etc. are very thoroughly rinsed to remove any traces.

Thank you very much Carol that is very kind of you and the labels sound brill. It's the best excuse I've had so far for a trip out, beats picking the lemon so see you there Carol. I was only being mischievous about you and the spellings Harem but there are several glaring ones. I took a certain amount of glee pointing them out to my son as he is always correcting mine! Interesting about detergent and testicular cancer as two members of our family have had it. I was hoping they might have included that form of cancer in their cause, still the prostate is near by I suppose.
I didn't get through to the person you mentioned Harem so now the trip seems very much on I'd appreciate all advice.
