Datša is busy tonight

Wow, how busy is Datša tonight?
I've heard there isn't a room in Datša or Marmaris for bayram.

One good thing though, no one was trying to drag us into any of their restaurants

Re: Datša is busy tonight

Situation seems the same down at this end. Hisaronu and surrounding areas are fully booked.

Re: Datša is busy tonight

Speaking of the restaurant staff trying to drag people in by pestering them does it really pay off ? I just don’t see it.has anyone ever walked into a resturant or booked a boat trip just because he/she was pesteted by the vendors.

Re: Datša is busy tonight

A friend went into town this morning. She reports that the beachside restaurants/cafes in Datca are charging 50TL per sunbed which has to have been reserved in advance. The beds are so close together the tables are placed at the ends. You will be listening to other folks' phone calls all day! There is unofficial camping all along the old Ilica beachside campsite out towards the point. No water or sanitation. Our taxi driver said that people are sleeping on the beaches and in the parks. It was taking him 40 minutes to drive from the Sapphire Hotel to PTT yesterday.
All the cafes and restaurants are heaving. As she left a tour bus arrived with 80 trippers who were struggling down the road with backpacks etc. There is literally nowhere for them to sit anywhere on the beaches.
What has happened to the law about allowing public access to all beaches in Turkey? Over in Kargi now the whole beach is covered with beds and shades leaving a tiny patch at one end for locals.
50TL a sunbed! Last fling before a financial tsunami perhaps? Or rampant greed?
