Door & window midge screen

Fine mesh door & window mosquito screens for all those
tiny midges which should keep out the smallest of insects.

Re: Door & window midge screen

Please can somebody confirm that those itsy bitsy black flying dots are prone to bite? I assumed they were harmless, but now I have a few very impressive oozing lumps on me that itch like blue blazes and I don't usually sufffer like this in Turkey. In fact I have never seen so many of the things but we have only been living here 11 months. HELP!!

Hi Andy
You can buy similar here in Turkey. Most D.I.Y and big supermarkets sell them in either black or white mesh.
Thing they are cheaper here too........but not certain

Ah I have done a Google search and they are called Ceratopogonidae. They breed in compost and we have pot plants in the house so I recon that's their home. I am getting insecticide and hope spraying the compost will rid us of this plague.

I know them as mushroom flies here in the UK and are harmless Lynne.

Mosquito netting for doors & windows is back in Lidl's on Monday.

Hmm, Google Ceratopogonidae and see what you get. I saw one chew me yesterday and now I have a crusty bitemark on that exact spot. Maybe in the UK they arent as hungry as here, LOL!

Gawd, tell me about it. I am covered in these bites. Mossie bites here don't usually give me grief. These are a nightmare. My head is covered in oozing lumps. Oh SOOOO attractive.....

These flys are called Davidus maximus shrekum and only bite when they are full of Efes beer and have been eating pizza otherwise they are quite docile and friendly
