Re: does every house in turkey have damp?
The good news is that I have managed to get this unregistered company closed before they had a chance to damage the industry, and they no longer advertise.

I asked several builders who said " It would add to the cost" £25 hardly a lot is it.
I seem to have stopped mine using airbricks and fans, all year. Long story but its worked.

The cost of damp proofing is considerably more than £25.00 as the only way it can be one here in Turkey is to line the foundation excavation with bitumen liner before the foundation is poured. We live in an earthquake zone so the``conventional`` dpc that we call normal in England cannot be used in Turkey and the way the properties are built is completely different to England, hence a lot of properties suffer from damp, just like most mediterranean countries.

Sounds a good reliable company eh? he has since switched his mobile off! We are reporting them to the relevant tax authorities, the police and the Gumruk. The newspaper where the ad is, have been informed of the questionable activity. Can't wait for the Guarantee!!!!!!!

Re: does every house in turkey have damp?
Hi - don;t know if this helps but we had a lot of damp in our place in Bitez and have installed a solar dehumidifier which seems to be working really well -damp and humidity have decreased and the place doesn;t smell musty when it has been shut up for a while. also, being solar there are no electricity bills.
if you want more info please feel free to email me.

Re: does every house in turkey have damp?
Did you use a company to install the solar dehumidifier or can you purchase and install yourself? Also, what price?
Lots of people of our sitesi have had vents fitted to the living room and bedrooms of the 2 bedroomed apartments and I think this helped with the internal damp problems last winter, not completely though.

The whole story was probably just one more of the fabrications from his over fertile imagination.
