Re: Own company plus working permit?
Anyone working in the company needs to have a work permit, including the General Manager.
The only exception I think would be in cases like a non-executive director.

Re: Own company plus working permit?
Thanks, Mushtaq for your reply. Does that mean that you think I can work in the company without a work permit?. I am a board member with 50% share.
I guess the GM can manage to company. But in consultancy business what is to manage and what is to work? Maybe a grey zone?

Don't worry, you can guarantee that if a Turk thinks you're doing something illegal they'll let someone know about you.

Re: Own company plus working permit?
You can't 'work' in your company without a work permit, consultancy would be providing service/advice which would be classes as 'work'
I don't think there is a legal way to own and work in a company without getting a work permit.
You can find more information HERE

Re: Own company plus working permit?
You must apply to Ankara for a Permit if you are Yabanci. Doesn't matter how much of the company you own. And the chances are you WİLL NOT get one unless you are going to train Turks to do something they know nothing about already. ie if it is just for yourself you will have a very hard rd. to fruition.

Re: Own company plus working permit?
Getting a work permit here as has been said is difficult or impossible even if you have a company and you're the director. However, been on FCO website today and there are special rules for Turks to get a work permit in the UK if they are opening a business. Believe this is something to do with Turkey trying to get into EU.
Now, I am wondering if the UK Government and EU know about this as I am sure if they did they would not have these "Special Rules" for Turks who want to open a business. Think HMG and EU should speak to Ankara on this issue and impliment the same here.

Re: Own company plus working permit?
Regarding recipricol agreements between countires - why don't governments introduce lifestyle swaps?
Then lots of us could escape to the country we feel more comfortable in - I think the UK could benefit more than others as I'd expect lots of people who want to 'semi-retire' could leave the UK. Whilst lots of keen eager young people wanting to make the most of the opportunities the UK has to offer could come in their place
