Re: Investing in a Turkish business

Don't do it, invest in your own country and bring the money out as you need it. There are too many pitfalls and possible scams here. We had a share in a business a few years ago, it was a good time to enter the market but a simple change in the law made it not profitable for any but the large companies. We were not cheated by anyone, but it is a very volatile place and things can change in an instant.

Re: Investing in a Turkish business

You will need (not necessarily in this order)

a good translator
an independent lawyer
a separate bank account to ringfence your assets
balls of steel.
an accountant who knows what they are doing re small businesses and will guide you on social security liabilities etc.
copies of co-owners assets and liabilities notarised and translated

Personally I would think twice, and then again. You could probably get more back on a cash deposit with less risk of loss apart from currency fluctuation, but I guess you know that anyway.

Re: Investing in a Turkish business

You also may need some turkish partners and/or workstaff and, although 99% may be honest, I would not take the risk.
