Opening a store in Turkey without work permit?

I read so much about working permittion. In the same time there are foreigners who owns stores? At least it looks like it.

If I was to open a clothing store - what would the rules be if I dont have the permittion to work? Some says that I can be there, choose the clothes and stay around as long as I dont sell myself or am the one to recieve the Money during the sale?

Does anyone know?

Re: Opening a store without working permittion?

As far as I understand you could put the money up, open the store, but, you would need to employ a Turkish person to sell your cothes etc; I may be wrong, but I think they would have to be partner in the business, you cannot, again as far as I understand do the business on your own. Someone who knows more of the 'do's and dont's' will be along to verify further, but good luck in your venture.

Just one word of warning, there are 100's of clothing stores all selling the same thing, basically designer copies. If you want to sell clothing check out the market for something different.

Re: Opening a store without working permittion?

of course you can open a business in your own name..you dont need to have a Turkish partner
and of course you would be involved in your business yours would be the say in what you sell and how you organise your staff

there are some nice boutiques in Alanya selling some really good and expensive stuff and ive noticed that one or two employ foreign girls as many of the customers in the summer are foreigners

however without some knowledge of the business rules and language you would have a difficult time...and dont be tempted into taking a business as a sleeping partner (oops i mean that idiomatically )

Don't fall prey to the local romeos here they're less than two a penny and as plausible as they are paws-able

i have made a reply to your post about social work..i hope you read it

and if you were my daughter i would say come and enjoy some time here..dont invest money here.. take the local scene with a pinch of salt

Re: Opening a store in Turkey without work permit?

I love how you take the time to give me such good answers!

I understand the part about Investment, and I am really not thinking of becoming Rich. I just would love to do it because I do have an interest in it. I enjoy clothes, and have always dreamt of my own little store.

I am sure you are very right about not making partnership With just anyone. The best would have been if I actually had a turkish boyfriend, cause then we could have cooperated. But I will never become someones girlfriend just to be able to make a business Time will show where life brings me Still a dreamer
