Re: Electricity pylons
Where does the builder's electricity supply come from? How far away from the nearest electricity pole/pylon is your apartment?

Re: Electricity pylons
We have had to have an electric pole installed. The original one was too low and the odd lorry or two would catch the cables, so the 4 of us that are served by the pole decided to get a proper one. Total cost 700 lira - 175 lira each. That included the digger to dig the hole, purchase and delivery of the pole, the crane to lift and erect the pole, concrete for the base, and additional cable as the pole is much higher.

Re: Electricity pylons
we are right next to the builders pole, but they said it isnt a perminent pylon. We are a building of 6 apartments so it is costing quite a bit more than 700 lira as we were quoted in pounds. Any way thanks for your help.

Re: Electricity pylons
I understand from Turkish friends that this is common - to pay for the service to be brought to the house - to avoid delay, otherwise you wait until they are ready to connect you. The cost depends how far the line has to be brought to make the connection.

Re: Electricity pylons
What a bloody cheek though - you shouldn't have to worry about hings like this when you buy a property. İMO it should be the developer's responsibility and he should be selling properties with electricity sorted properly!!

Re: Electricity pylons
Santiye electricity is expensive and mains electricity won't be connected until the whole building is finished..so you have the choice pay for a temporary pole..or pay şantiye..building site power.

Re: Electricity pylons
Hi all, After a few heated words between owners and estate agents, we have been informed that it is the builders responsibilty to erect the poles when he has finished. There is a perminent resident in our block and she has recieved an electric bill off the builder for 700 lira, which she is refusing to pay. He is threatening to cut the supply in 15 days time and that is why she needs the pylons erecting. The only problem i have with this is i dont have tapu so i cannot register for mains electric yet. Anyway thanks for replys. sue
