connecting to electric and water

My friend is moving to Altinkum on 9th May - her agent has been on the phone saying that her tapu will be through about 5 days later but he cant get her leccy and water connected until her tapu is through. I know that some people on the forum were in their places prior to getting their tapu so did they sit in the dark without a wash? Is this right you agents out there?

Technically true Lesley however, any agent worth their salt would easily work round that.

Well when we bought our first apartment we had the same quandry. Our builder sorted it out by simply feeding the electricity supply from another meter temporarily. And as far as i am aware he was able to set up unmetered water too.

Failing that the present owner/builder should be able to apply for your water/electricity to be connected in his name until the tapu arrives anyhow.

We had our Electric and Water on before we went to sign for the Tapu, but guess what. The day we signed for the Tapu the Water stopped. Our Agent said it was to do with a burst main up near us, but we had other idea's. We had no water for two and half days, had to buy bottle water and fill the toilet up with this and boil water to wash in. I email our agent resently and he said it is all ok now. He has advised us to have a water tank fitted on the roof. The electric was ok tho.
